Danger Spring on Texas Coast

Sargent Texas and “Salty Sammy” Salty Sammy from Sargent Texas is good a dog. He lives in Sargent on the Gulf Coast and enjoys the outdoors. Springtime can be dangerous for Pets on the Gulf Coast You could say he is a local Star. Don’t get me wrong he is part Boxer and part Pit but is most of all he is all Sargent. Sometimes he thinks he is a tough guy because of his pedigree. Part Pitbull and part Boxer. He is handsome  cute and very much loved. He had some problems last spring in tall grass. His Best friend Logan Frederich. Salty  Sammy is spunky, happy and well behaved...

So instead of writing about Sargent we got you up in the air for a  birds eye view of Mitchell's Cut. New Sargent Bridge

New Sargent Bridge plans. Recently I came across a posted photo of the New Sargent Bridge. It is a "Corkscrew shaped Bridge" on 457 in Sargent Texas, the one that will replace our current Sargent Floating Swing Bridge.  It is supposed to  limit the Environmental impact with the new design.  When you look at it's footprint on the map it is very compact. It does not take up large Area and Surface. This will allow it to only cover approximately up to 7 acres. Double Click on plans. This view is looking from North to South. The State of Texas want to limit the impact of the Bridge on the "Greater...

San Bernard Wildlife Preserve Cedar Lakes

  • April 2, 2016

The Cedar Lakes North of Sargent Texas A few people have asked me to post some information about the Cedar Lakes. The Cedar Lakes are a really wild part of the Texas Coast. They are located North of Sargent in the San Bernard Wildlife Preserve. They are very inaccessible and can be dangerous. . I have only fished in front of them from the Intracoastal and was very timid about going into them with my boat. I have fished the beach cut from the Gulf that goes into the lake closest to Sargent. That was fun without the boat. If you have fished the Cedar Lakes area in a boat or Kayak contact me. What...

Winter Fishing near Sargent

  • February 25, 2016

Winter Fishing in Sargent Enjoy fishing while running out the Winter Boat Blues. Winter fishing around Sargent is really fun. It's time to fish for Sheepshead.  Sheepshead are really abundant and prolific around East Matagorda Bay and Sargent Texas. If you live on the Creek, Canal or on the intracoastal  you can catch them off of your docks. For the next 8 weeks the fish we call Sheepshead are prolific around Sargent. Their spawn usually is in the end of March. They love docks, structure, Oyster Reefs, rocks or any structure.. They love canals and piers and any rocks or Oyster Beds. They are close...
