The Sargent Boat Parade It has puts everyone in the spirit for end of year Holidays. The annual "Sargent Boat Parade" on November 28, 2020.  The first Saturday after Thanksgiving.  This year the Sargent Boat parade fun starts at the mouth of Carney Creek at Larry's Bait Camp.  To participate  Boat Owners can contact Kim Ware 713-829-9746 or Marie Zikuhr 979-245-9876. New Regulations If you taking the boat out this weekend to fish  Mitchell's Cut or East Matagorda Bay there are some important New Regulations that the Texas Legislator have enacted. They go into effect September 1, 2019. Some of these new rules are related to Kill-Switches, Life- Jackets, Boater Education and Underway-rules. Well the Oyster Season is coming to an End around Sargent Texas. The season ends in April for Texas. It has been a good year for Oysters as they continue their recovery from the drought that so affected them for the last 5 years out of 8 years. Sargent Texas and “Salty Sammy” Salty Sammy from Sargent Texas is good a dog. He lives in Sargent on the Gulf Coast and enjoys the outdoors. Springtime can be dangerous for Pets on the Gulf Coast You could say he is a local Star. Don’t get me wrong he is part Boxer and part Pit but is most of all he is all Sargent. Sargent Waterfowl Zone Hunt Starts The Sargent Permit Zone is open November 3, 2018. Note Section Hunt area 9 and 10 are not avalable. If you did not win entrance Permits in the raffle that was held a few weeks ago. Sometimes you can get on the hunt by calling the morning of the hunt and get on list for people who do not show up. Sargent lost a legend of East Matagorda Bay Larry Mcnally of Larry's Bait passed away this week. He really loved East Matagorda Bay and he really loved Sargent.  Whether you were buying shrimp, oysters, crabs or other bait Larry was incredible. Larry would always take his time to teach me about the bay when I first moved here.  He taught me a lot about East Matagorda bay and he will be missed.  Our Condolences to family and friends.
