The San Bernard so  Close to Sargent Texas

The 24 Annual Migrations Celebration will explode into action on  Saturday April 21 and  Sunday April  22. The festival is a family friendly event that is open to the public and showcases some of the incredible attributes of the San Bernard Federal Wildlife Refuge. It is a fun way to enjoy the Refuge and it’s attributes.

The San Bernard Federal Wildlife Refuge to the  East of Sargent and the Big Boggy to our West Anchor the Greater Sargent Ecosystem.  Within this Ecosystem contain some of the Last Wild Prairie on the Texas mid Coast.  Vast areas the North of Sargent and to our East are the  Columbia Bottom Land forest.  With the Purchase and preservation of the Dance Bayou Tract in 2012 and the Nannie M. Stringfellow Wildlife Area these areas make up some of the largest Native Old Growth Southern Forest in the  United States.

The Celebration takes part at the Headquarters of the San Bernard Refuge and Preserve.
